Softgel capsules are single-piece capsules that contain oils or oil-dissolved active ingredients within a soft gelatin shell. Compared to hard capsules, they have a more flexible structure and are produced by safely encapsulating liquid contents.

Structurally, they consist of a gel-like liquid fill on the inside and a fast-dissolving gelatin layer on the outside. Their single-piece form ensures ease of use and convenient storage.

The softgel format is an ideal solution for oil-based ingredients that are difficult to consume directly, such as fish oil. It is also widely preferred for fat-soluble vitamins (A, D, E, K) and oil-based active components.

Thanks to a hygienic and closed production system, softgels provide enhanced stability and precise dosing.

Note: Our production infrastructure is suitable not only for oil-based formulations but also for oil + powder combination softgel formulations.

Softgel Production Process

 Softgel production is a specialized manufacturing process that requires high precision and strict quality control, enabling liquid-form ingredients to be encapsulated into a single-piece capsule form by combining them with gelatin layers.

 
Production Steps:

  • Formula Preparation

    Oil-based ingredients and active substances are blended at the targeted ratios.

  • Gelatin Preparation

    The viscosity and moisture levels of the gelatin solution forming the outer shell are adjusted.

  • Encapsulation

    The liquid content is encapsulated between gelatin ribbons under controlled temperature and flow parameters, forming a single-piece softgel capsule.

  • Drying and Stabilization

    The produced capsules are dried in a controlled environment to achieve moisture balance and shelf-life stability.
